Dr. Qi Zhang’s research at Wellman will focus on the role of IEX-1 (Immediate Early responsive gene X-1) in the development of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) or its progression to acute myeloid leukemia (AML) using IEX-1 knockout mice. She will be also involved in the study of the role for IEX-1 in T cell and macrophage survival and differentiation in a sub set-specific manner.
