The Wellman Center for Photomedicine is the world's largest research institute devoted to the study of photobiology and photomedicine. The Center offers exciting opportunities for graduate students in the biological sciences, physical sciences and engineering to conduct thesis research in a multidisciplinary environment.
Wellman research areas include photosensitization, photodynamic therapy, biophysics, optical technologies, photochemistry, photobiology and molecular genetics. Research projects span the spectrum from basic biological research, the development of cutting edge technologies, and early stage clinical studies. Prospective trainees are referred to the research interests of current faculty in this website.
